The vision, mission and values of Central Baptist Hospital are consistent with our Christian heritage, and are described in detail in the About Baptist section on the home page of our Web site.
The Medical Staff of Central Baptist Hospital is composed of approximately 600 physicians, representing a variety of specialties in the departments of Cardiovascular Services, Children’s Services, Hospital Based Medicine, Medicine, Oncology Services, Surgical Services and Women’s Services. Each department is represented by an elected department chair who also serves as a member of the CBH Medical Executive Committee.
General qualifications and basic responsibilities for membership and clinical privileges are outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws. These qualifications include successful completion of an ACGME, AOA or ADA accredited residency program, Board certification or qualification within the specialty area appropriate to the privileges requested, and much more. Please click here for additional information from the bylaws.
Since May 1999, the Medical Staff application and reapplication process has been facilitated by Commonwealth CredentialingSM, a service of the Lexington Medical SocietySM. The alignment of our credentialing process with the Centralized Verification Organization (CVO) allows a collaborative relationship among local hospitals and physicians to facilitate the credentialing process among multiple facilities without duplication of paperwork for the physician. Click here for detailed information about Commonwealth CredentialingSM .
In addition to the Medical Staff professionals, Central Baptist also recognizes approximately 225 Allied Health Professionals who serve our patients as physician extenders. The Allied Health professional category is composed of dependent or contracted practitioners representing ARNPs, CRNAs, physician assistants, registered nurse extenders, speech-language pathologists, and many more. The credentialing of these individuals is handled onsite. Please click here to learn more about the Allied Health Professional category and application process.
